Raw Banana Bhaji



INGREDIENTS:

Raw Banana - 3, boiled, peeled and mashed
Onion - 1, finely chopped
Tomato - 2, finely chopped
Capsicum - 1/2, finely chopped
Green Peas - 1/4 cup, fresh or frozen
Oil/Butter - 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Pav Bhaji Masala - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Water - 1 cup
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Coriander - to garnish

PROCEDURE:

How to boil raw banana:
Pour l ltr of water into pressure cooker and add the raw bananas into it. Cut into half if you wish. Allow to cook until 5 whistles. Once it cools, remove the skin of the banana. Take them in a bowl and mash them nicely.

  • Heat oil in pan. Add in the cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute. 
  • Then, add in the onions, capsicum and saute until golden brown. 
  • Next, add in the green peas, tomatoes and saute until all the vegetables appear to be wilted. You will see the oil release at this stage.
  • Then, add in the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, pav bhaji masala, salt and the mashed raw banana. Add in a cup of water and mix everything well. 
  • Cook until the mixture comes to a boil. Garnish with lemon juice and coriander. 
  • Serve with rice, chapati or bread.
