Quick Methi Potato Rice
INGREDIENTS:
Basmati Rice - 1 cup
Water - 11/2 cups
Methi leaves - 3/4 cup
Onion - 1, sliced
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
Green Chilli paste - 1tsp
Potato - 1, cubed
Green Peas - 1/4 cup
Jeera - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt - as needed
Dry Spices:
Cinnamon stick - 2 pieces (1 inch each)
Clove - 2 or 3
Bay Leaf - 1 or 2
PROCEDURE:
Soak the rice in water for 20 mins. Drain the water and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Add in the jeera and the dry spices. Then add in the onions and saute for a minute.Next add in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilli paste. Saute until the raw smell goes away. Next, add in the potatoes, green peas, methi leaves, turmeric powder and mix everything well. Add in the rice, water and salt. Pressure cook until a whistle.
Serve it with cucumber, raita, tomato sauce or have just the rice!
