Stir Fried Turnip


INGREDIENTS:

Turnip - 4 to 5, cubed
Tomatoes - 1, chopped
Ginger-Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Water - 1/4 cup
Oil - 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp


PROCEDURE:

Heat oil in pan. Add in cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste and the turnip pieces. Saute for 3 to 4 mins. Then, add in turmeric, red chilli powder, salt and mix well. Next add in the tomatoes and saute. Add in the water, cover a lid and cook until the turnips become fork tender. You will see that the water has evaporated at this stage. Add in the garam masala powder and mix. Check if more water is required and add if the turnips are not soft yet. 
Garnish with coriander and serve with rice or roti!
