Cluster Beans Masala


Cluster beans or guar are high in calcium content and help strengthen the bones.

INGREDIENTS:

Cluster Beans or Guar - 1 lb, chopped
Onions - 1, finely chopped
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Roasted peanuts - 2 tsp, coarsely crushed
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 3 tsp
Salt - to taste

Items for Masala :

Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Garlic - 1 pod
Sesame Seeds - 1 tsp
Red Chillies - 2
Coconut - 2 tsp (fresh or dessicated)

Coarsely grind the items for masala into a powder. Don't add water.

Pressure cook the cluster beans with 4 tsp of water. Heat oil in pan. Add in mustard seeds, onion and saute until they turn slightly brown. Then, add in the boiled beans and mix. Next, add the masala powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Garnish with crushed peanuts.
This can be served with rice or roti.
